World champion John Higgins suffered a second-round defeat to Peter Ebdon at the China Open in Beijing yesterday.

Higgins led 3-1, but Ebdon battled back to go through 5-4. Ebdon will meet Neil Robertson in the last eight after the Australian beat Stephen Hendry 5-3.
