Mark Allen has been fined £2,000 by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, and ordered to pay £1,000 costs. Allen, from Northern Ireland, was accused of breaching his World Snooker Limited contract by failing to appear at five promotional events since last September.

A WPBSA statement said: "Media commitments are an integral part of a tournament... The [disciplinary] committee considered these failures as persistent and serious."
