Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mark Williams are both in trouble with snooker's governing body after four-letter outbursts on Twitter.

The WPBSA have launched a discipline crackdown after a series of tweets featuring bad language on the social networking site. Both O'Sullivan and Williams have been asked for their comments. The high-profile pair now face possible disrepute charges and fines.

After his warning O'Sullivan, who had crudely joked about Manchester United star Ryan Giggs and model Imogen Thomas, has quit Twitter in Britain. He wrote: "Freedom of speech, no such thing."

The world No16 has now vowed to communicate only with his 100,000 Chinese Weibo followers, where he has a translator.
