British rider Liam Holohan storms up the Embankment in London yesterday on the eighth stage of the Tour of Britain. Holohan, who rides for Team Raleigh, completed the 10km (6.2-mile) time trial in 11 minutes 45 seconds to finish 72nd, 1.31sec behind the winner, Britain's Alex Dowsett.
The overall race leader Lars Boom, of the Netherlands, came in second, five seconds behind Dowsett and led by 36 seconds over Sky's Stephen Cummings going into the final stage, a 10-lap circuit of the centre of London finishing on Whitehall.
