Yellow fever: Wiggins becomes fifth Brit to don Tour jersey
On an eventful weekend for British sport, Bradley Wiggins fulfilled a lifelong ambition in becoming only the fifth British rider to wear the yellow jersey at the Tour de France.
The 32-year-old three-time Olympic gold medallist finished two seconds behind Team Sky team-mate Chris Froome on Saturday's seventh stage between Tomblaine and La Planche des Belles Filles, and retained the jersey after yesterday's eighth stage.
The last Briton to sport the yellow jersey was David Millar, in 2000; Wiggins' success follows Mark Cavendish winning the green jersey last year.
