Racing: Johnston strikes for sheikh
Mark Johnston, closing in on a record 10th successive century by a trainer on the Flat, broke fresh ground at Ayr yesterday when Munaawashat became the first two-year-old winner he has saddled for Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.
The trainer went on to complete a 33-1 double and take his score for the season to 92 with Shayadi. Johnston's wife, Deirdre, said: "Bandari was the first horse Sheikh Hamdan sent to us and he has since sent us three two-year-olds."
