Racing: Kario De Sormain impresses in Champion Chase prep

Moscow Flyer's public preparation for his defence of the Queen Mother Champion Chase is confined to a workout at Punchestown today, but it is unlikely he will get away with an easier time than Kario De Sormain had in a race over hurdles at Fontainebleau yesterday.

The volatile mare, absent since unseating her rider when 20 lengths clear at Auteuil in December, never came off the bridle in outclassing a field of inferiors. Indeed, the hardest part seemed to be getting her to the start - she was led down by two handlers - but she settled nicely once underway and will now be a first runner in Britain for the 11 times champion trainer of France, Jean-Paul Gallorini.

A more familiar visitor will be represented in the Racing Post Chase at Sandown on Saturday, François Doumen having accepted with L'Ami and Innox. Coral favour Ladalko on 6-1, with Innox on 8-1 and L'Ami 9-1.

Sadlers Wings has suffered a recurrence of the leg injury that kept him out for 18 months prior to a promising return at Leopardstown last month and will not make the Champion Hurdle.
