Buderus charged for dangerous tackle as Leeds count the cost of play-off victory

Leeds' Australian Test hooker, Danny Buderus, could miss their next play-off match after being charged with a dangerous throw in Sunday night's dramatic victory over Wigan. Buderus was placed on report during the first half at the DW Stadium for a tackle that ended with Paul Prescott landing on his head.

Two Wigan forwards, Joel Tomkins and Chris Tuson, have been cautioned over incidents in the same game, but there is to be no action over Leeds' claims that Danny McGuire was fouled off the ball and injured in the frantic closing stages. McGuire was having a scan yesterday on suspected knee ligament damage that could not only rule him out of the rest of the domestic season, but out of the Four Nations as well.

Chris Bridge of Warrington has ruled himself out of the tournament, to stay at home for the birth of his first child.

Two Hull players, Tom Briscoe and Kirk Yeaman, have been added to the preliminary squad preparing for the competition.

The League has also ruled that there is insufficient video evidence to support Scott Murrell's claim that he was bitten while making a tackle on Shaun Berrigan during Hull KR's victory over Hull on Saturday.
