Celtic Crusaders' problems have deepened with the news that they are under investigation by the UK Borders Agency for visa irregularities. All the overseas players at the club are having their visas checked.

Eight of them were delayed until the eve of this season before they arrived in Bridgend, but this investigation is thought to refer to earlier events.

"The Celtic Crusaders are co-operating fully and doing what we can to bring the investigation to a swift conclusion," said a statement from the club last night.
