International rugby league will be played in Blackburn for the first time on this autumn's tour by New Zealand.

Ewood Park has been pencilled in for the first Test between Great Britain and the Kiwis in November, with Huddersfield and Wigan to stage the following matches. It will be the first major game in the football stronghold since the Australians played Lancashire there in 1911.

Stuart Cummings is to referee his fourth and last Challenge Cup final when St Helens meet Wigan at Murrayfield on 27 April. It will be his final game before switching to an executive role at Rugby League's headquarters.

St Helens have recalled their goal-kicking reserve stand-off, John Braddish, from his long-term loan at Oldham, as cover for their injury crisis leading up to Saturday's game at Bradford and the Cup final a week later.

Warrington, with David Plange in full charge for the first time, are to give Leroy Rivett his competitive debut against Wigan tomorrow night. The club have also signed John Sebastian Mongay, a stand-off from Villeneuve, on a month's trial.

Another young Frenchman, Olivier Elima, has been promoted to the first-team squad at Castleford.

Wakefield have signed Andrew Frew from the Australian club, Penrith.

An Australian Aboriginal team is to make a six-match tour to Britain in the autumn.
