England scrum-half Rob Burrow will miss the start of Leeds' defence of their Super League title tomorrow. Burrow has been ruled out of the Rhinos' opener against Celtic Crusaders with a back injury. Also missing are Brent Webb, Ryan Bailey and Danny Buderus.

Better news for the Leeds coach, Brian McClennan, is that Danny McGuire and Kevin Sinfield are fit. McGuire is expected to switch to scrum-half for Burrow, with Sinfield moving to stand-off.

The club's other new signing, the Kiwi Test forward, Greg Eastwood, is still waiting for his visa.

Harlequins' home game against Bradford, scheduled for Sunday, is subject to a pitch inspection on Saturday, because of heavy snow in London.
