Leeds Rhinos to honour Jamie Peacock's 500th Super League appearance on Friday with 'JP Day'

Peacock made his debut back in 1999 for Bradford against Wakefield and will take on the same opposition when he runs out for the Rhinos at Headingley

Leeds have named this Friday 'JP Day' in honour of former England captain Jamie Peacock, whose appearance against Wakefield will be the 500th of his career.

The 36-year-old Peacock made his Super League debut for Bradford on April 11, 1999 - coincidently against Wakefield - having previously played four games on loan at Featherstone.

To mark the landmark, the Rhinos will distribute thousands of Peacock masks at Friday's game at Headingley and will use a special hashtag £JP500 for fans to pay tribute to the evergreen forward on social media that will be shown on the big screen.

Leeds media manager Phil Daly said: "JP has announced that next season will be his last in the game so this is a chance for us to mark an incredible landmark in his long career and pay tribute to him when he is at the top of his game.

"He is the most iconic and successful player of the Super League era, so for him to reach this milestone exactly 15 years after his first Super League appearance and against the same opposition has a nice symmetry to it."
