London Broncos have confirmed the signing of former St Helens hooker Scott Moore.

The 25-year-old links up with the Londoners after being released from the second year of his contract with the North Queensland Cowboys, for whom he made six NRL appearances in 2013.

Broncos head coach Tony Rea said: "I think he's played his best football when he's been able to sit on a position rather than be juggled around. We're looking to use him as a starting hooker.

"He's gone out and grabbed some experience in the NRL so we're looking to utilise that. I think Scott needs a good season so it's a win-win scenario."

Moore became the youngest player in Super League when he made his debut for Saints in 2004 at the age of 16 but was up against Kieron Cunningham and Mick Higham and went on to play his best football while on loan to Castleford and Huddersfield.

He played for England in 2009 during his loan spell with the Giants but his career has not been without controversy.

He was suspended by Huddersfield after an infamous night out in London with Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke and was sacked by Widnes, his fourth club, for a breach of discipline.

Moore is the second confirmed signing for the Broncos, who have moved from the Twickenham Stoop to Barnet and are in a re-building phase after losing the bulk of last year's squad.

On Monday, the Londoners announced the capture of Hull KR forward George Griffin and on Tuesday completed season-loan deals for Leeds trio James Duckworth, Thomas Minns and Alex Foster.
