Morgan confirms new Rovers contract for 'amazing' veteran Gene

Stanley Gene has signed on for one more season with Hull KR after winning his argument for exemption from the overseas quota.
The Papua New Guinea international, officially 34 but widely assumed to be much older, was set to be squeezed out at Rovers by the new limit on imports.
But now the club has given him a new, one-year deal, much to Gene's delight. "I love rugby league and I love this club," he said. "Rovers gave me my first chance when I came over here and will always have a special place in my heart."
Rovers' coach, Justin Morgan, confirmed that Gene was still very much in his plans for next season. "Stanley is like a fine wine that matures with age, he never ceases to amaze me." he said.
St Helens have Jason Cayless back in their squad for the game against Leeds tomorrow that will put one of them into the Super League Grand Final.
Castleford have released four players – Peter Lupton, Mark Leafa, Ned Catic and Adam Fletcher – at the end of their contracts. The former Harlequins forward, Joe Walsh, has signed a one-year deal with Huddersfield.
Featherstone will today confirm Iestyn Harris as their new player-assistant coach.
