New South Wales beat Queensland 16-12 in Australia's second State of Origin match yesterday, staving off the immediate threat of an unprecedented seventh-straight series defeat.
Queensland won the first match, which was staged in Melbourne, 18-10. The outcome of the series will be decided at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium in three weeks' time.
