The future of two National League clubs is in the balance with Rochdale Hornets discussing a merger with the town's football club and a meeting next week to try to raise the finance to enable Doncaster to carry on. Doncaster's former chief executive, Ray Green, now with Sheffield Eagles has called the meeting, while Rochdale AFC are in touch with the Rugby Football League over Hornets' winding-up order from the Inland Revenue.

Huddersfield are ready to concede defeat in their attempts to get a visa for the controversial Australian half-back Todd Carney to play for them next season.
