The Sydney City Roosters have named a 19-year-old prop in their squad for the World Club Challenge against St Helens next month.

The Roosters are bringing David Shillington in a 20-man party for the game at Bolton on 14 February, but apart from the suspension that keeps out the winger, Eric Grothe, the squad is otherwise at full strength.

"I'm really happy with the squad we are bringing and we have given an opportunity to a couple of young guys who have really shown up well in training," the Sydney coach, Ricky Stuart, said. The squad includes the former Australian Test captain Brad Fittler, two recent caps in Craig Fitzgibbon and Craig Wing, two New Zealanders kept out of their autumn tour to Europe by injury in Jason Cayless and Andrew Lomu, plus Great Britain's Adrian Morley.

Lokomotiv Moscow fly in today for their Challenge Cup tie against Leigh on Saturday, with their opponents admitting that they know little about them.

"We haven't seen any videos of them," said the Leigh coach, Paul Terzis. "We're more concerned with ourselves, but we will respect them because they have won their championship. I imagine them being like a National Conference team.''

Leigh are laying on an evening of entertainment to mark the entry of the second Russian team – after the defeat of Strella Kazan by the Hull amateurs, Embassy, in the last round – into the Challenge Cup.

Widnes are stepping up their search for a new stand-off amid fears that both the Australians who filled that position for them last season could be lost to the club. Steve Carter has been told that he needs a re-constructive operation on his ankle, which will keep him out for half the season, while Craig Weston is keen to return home to his ill mother.
