Salford's plan for a new stadium has suffered another set-back. The club hoped to build the ground in partnership with Salford City College, but they are now uncertain about funding. The club's chief executive, Dave Tarry, is adamant the stadium will be built.

The New Zealand coach, Stephen Kearney, has told Brent Webb and Thomas Leuluai they are not required for the Test against Australia on 8 May. Leuluai will now be able to play for Wigan at Wakefield in the Challenge Cup the following day. Wigan's Shaun Ainscough has been awarded four tries rather than three from the 32-20 Cup win at Barrow after video evidence was consulted.
