Danny Sculthorpe has ended speculation that he could be set to join older brother Paul at St Helens by signing a three-year contract at Wigan. The ball-playing prop is currently out of action following a shoulder operation and faces a race to be fit in time to play again this year. "The club has shown great faith in me and I'm determined to be back fitter and stronger, hopefully before the end of the season,'' he said.

The 24-year-old Sculthorpe, who played for England A last season, becomes the third of Wigan's younger British players to agree new contracts, following Gareth Hock and Sean O'Loughlin.

Hock, Andy Farrell and Terry Newton are all back in Wigan's squad to face Bradford on Friday night after being rested at Salford on Sunday.

The Australian club, St George-Illawarra, has confirmed the signing of Colin Best, the winger who told Hull last week that he wanted to go home next season.
