Warrington lead pack in hunt for Morley's signature

The Great Britain forward Adrian Morley is set to return from Australia to Super League next season after receiving only a one-year offer to extend his stay with Sydney Roosters.

The 29-year-old former Leeds favourite is out of contract at the end of the year, and no fewer than 10 Super League clubs are thought to have expressed an interest in him, with Warrington thought to be among the front runners, along with Leeds and Bradford.

Leeds have signed the New Zealand Test centre, Clinton Toopi, as the replacement for the departing Chev Walker. Toopi, 26, is coming next season on a three-year contract from New Zealand Warriors. Toopi will take up a spot on Leeds' overseas quota, which is currently filled by Ali Lauitiiti, Scott Donald and Mark O'Neill, the latter of whom is out of contract at the end of this season.

The Warriors and other NRL clubs made efforts to keep Toopi in the southern hemisphere, where he is regarded as one of the game's great entertainers.

Walker, who has already rejected Leeds' terms for next season, looks set to switch to rugby union with Bath.

The Melbourne Storm, who along with Wigan had been showing keen interest in the Great Britain centre or second row, have been told by his representatives that he has opted to change codes.
