Wigan's Australian three-quarter Jamie Ainscough had to miss his side's 40-18 win at Warrington last night – after having a tooth pulled from his arm.
The former St George Illawarra winger discovered the tooth, which belonged to the St Helens centre Martin Gleeson, after he went to hospital for an x-ray examination this week.
"He had to have an operation to have the tooth pulled," said the Wigan coach, Stuart Raper. "I think he's sent it back in the post."
Ainscough had played all three of Wigan's matches since an incident with Gleeson, which occurred during a game against Saints, the Super League leaders, on 30 July. He went for a check-up after the arm became infected.
Last night's win extended Wigan's unbeaten run to 12 games.
