Randy Orton kicked off the show to tell the crowd that despite Roman Reigns' involvement, he's still walking out of Payback as WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the Triple Threat Match with Seth Rollins. Reigns' music hit for the powerhouse to tell Orton that if he comes near him, he won't be standing, to which the Viper reminded him that he's talking to a 12-time World Champion.

New Day then came out and they told the two competitors that what's in the past is in the past as they have an opportunity to do something positive tonight and clap with them. The Tag Team Champions then said that Kane had made a 3 on 2 handicap match between them, which will start right there and then.

Orton delivered and RKO to Xavier Woods but as Reigns went for the Spear, Kofi Kingston dodged and Reigns inadvertently hit the Apex Predator for New Day to pick up the win. Kane then made an attempt to settle the differences by making the main event between Orton and Reigns.

The Brass Ring Club got their hunt to regain their championships back on track with a win over The Ascension. Cesaro went for his Swing for Tyson Kidd to join in with a drop kick in a unique double team move to pick up the three count. Natalya then joined her husband in the ring to celebrate while Ascension continue to lose ground since their debut on the main roster.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose took each other on in a rematch from Smackdown that was made by Kane. If Ambrose was to win, he would be added to the main event at Payback to make it a Fatal Four Way.

J&J Security ran down to the ring in an attempt to help their boss pick up the win but this was not enough to stop the Lunatic Fringe. Ambrose avoided the attack and rolled up Rollins for the victory to be added to the WWE Championship match later this month.

Rusev took on Fandango in a singles match, with Lana at ringside. Lana started to do the Fandango dance, which infuriated the Russian who sent his manager backstage in response. Rusev then took his anger out on his opponent and locked in the Accolade to win via submission and set up a strong run ahead of his rematch with John Cena at Payback.

Cena himself had issued an open challenge to anyone backstage but before anyone could respond, Bret Hart came out to the delight of the Canadian crowd. Following an altercation with Heath Slater, Hart introduced a fellow Canadian wrestler in Sami Zayn to take on Cena for his title.

Zayn gave Cena a run for his money despite dealing with his injury that kept him off TV for the past few months. Cena eventually won the back and forth bout with the Attitude Adjustment to retain his gold.

King Barrett makes his grand entrance (WWE.com)

The new King of the Ring, Bad News Barrett partnered with Sheamus to take on Dolph Ziggler and Neville in tag match. Barrett showed why he was crowned king and delivered a thunderous Bull Hammer to his fellow countryman in mid-air to pick up the win for his team.

The Authority sat at ringside to get a close look at the final match between Reigns and Orton. The match was continuously interrupted by Rollins and Kane until Ambrose ran down to even the odds. The show closed with Orton hitting Reigns with an RKO before Ambrose landed the Dirty Deeds on the Viper to be the last man standing.
