AJ Styles is still WWE Champion after he overcame Samoa Joe in a brutal bout as part of the Super Show-Down in Melbourne.

Styles and Joe have waged war in recent months and have produced some of the most watchable matches in WWE having known each other and worked together for so many years.

Their latest meeting took place in front of over 70,000 fans at the MCG in Melbourne, Australia and it was Styles who came out on top with a pinfall win, Joe forced to submit to his trademark Calf Crusher signature. Styles will now go on to meet new number one contender, Daniel Bryan, after Bryan emerged victorious against The Miz.

An eventful and lively evening in front of a noisy crowd saw plenty of the company's big names in action - John Cena appearing for a rare in-ring outing as he partnered Bobby Lashley for an all-too-quick win over Kevin Owens and Elias.

In what was billed as a Last Time Ever meeting between legendary figures The Undertaker and Triple H, the main event proved to be total chaos as the two icons went toe to toe, flanked respectively by Kane and Shawn Michaels. While the night saw Triple H emerge victorious after all four had featured, it was evident there would be at least one more chapter to the rivalry after the Brothers of Destruction attacked the former DX duo after the bell. The four are now likely to meet in a tag team match in Saudi Arabia next month.

Ronda Rousey, currently Raw Women's Champion, teamed with the Bella Twins to down the Riott Squad, while hometown hero, Buddy Murphy triumphed by winning the Cruiserweight Championship in a short but stunning bout with Cedric Alexander that had the crowd on its feet.

Smackdown Live tag team champions The New Day retained their title in a lively opener against The Bar, while Charlotte Flair picked up a bittersweet disqualification win over Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch, the incumbent ultimately keeping hold of her gold for now.

The IIconics, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, were also on home soil and claimed a win over Asuka and Naomi that did the former very few favours, while The Shield, combining their forces, just about mustered enough to overcome the awesome trio of Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman.
