Sam Torrance made a spirited recovery after a disappointing first nine to take a one-shot lead after the third round of the Moroccan Open in Agadir yesterday. The Scot missed the early-morning rain to shoot a level- par 72 for a 54-hole aggregate of 209, seven under par, with Mark James, Robert Karlsson, of Sweden, and the German Alexander Cejka all one shot behind. Then comes David Gilford, winner of this event in 1992 and 1993, on 211. "If I had played a bit better in the front nine I would have been well ahead now," Torrance said. "But it's still magnificent to be in front at this point."
