Golf: Davies shares the lead
Laura Davies staged a late surge to share the lead after the third round of the Australian Ladies' Masters on the Gold Coast yesterday. Birdies at the final two holes put her on target to land her 10th tournament win of the year as she put in a five-under-par round of 68 to join the Australian Jane Crafter at the top of the leaderboard on 14-under-par 205. "That was solid stuff. I played really well," the British star said. "I love this place. You can flog it all over the place." Meanwhile, Great Britain slipped from sixth place to ninth after the third round of the men's World Amateur Team Championship in the Philippines. Australia, world champions in 1958 and 1966, maintained their eight-stroke lead.
