NICK PRICE will be full of confidence for next week's Open at Royal St George's after becoming the first player in more than a year to gain consecutive victories in US Tour events.
The Zimbabwean putted superbly to win the Western Open by five strokes at the Cog Hill course in Lemont, Illinois, on Sunday.
Price, the US PGA champion, shot a 67 for a record 19-under-par aggregate tournament score of 269. He collected dollars 216,000 ( pounds 147,000) to move to the top of the 1993 money list with dollars 1,037,879.
Greg Norman, who was two strokes behind Price overnight, scored a 70 to finish second for the third year running.
