Ian Woosnam's hopes of winning the Volvo German Open all but disappeared in Dusseldorf yesterday as Vijay Singh opened up a seven-stroke lead with a course record-equalling 64.
The 29-year-old Fijian, two behind Ian Woosnam when play started, scored an outward 30 to take control and matched the Hubbelrath record by sinking a 15- foot birdie putt on the last.
Woosnam's third-round 73 puts him seven shots behind on a total of 205 alongside South African Gavin Levenson and Spaniard Jose Carriles.
