England pair in pursuit but Patty Tavatanakit holds narrow lead at ANA Inspiration tournament
Hull earned two top-10 finishes last year and is already on course for her second of 2021
England’s Charley Hull and Georgia Hall remain within four shots of leader Patty Tavatanakit after the second round of the ANA Inspiration LPGA tournament.
An eagle on the par four 15th helped Thailand’s Tavatanakit follow up an opening round 66 with a three-under 69 to maintain a one-shot lead at Rancho Mirage in California.
Hot on her heels is China’s Shanshan Feng, who picked up six birdies on Friday to head into the weekend at eight under.
Thailand’s Moriya Jutanugarn is one shot behind Feng, while Hull carded back-to-back 69s to sit in fourth place alongside Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist.
Hull’s compatriot Hall picked up two shots from her first nine holes before matching two birdies with two bogeys down the stretch to close out the second round on five under with a share of sixth place.

Meanwhile, Ireland’s Leona Maguire was unable to replicate her stellar opening round of 67 as she carded a one-over 73 to drop to equal-12th on the leaderboard.
Englishwomen Bronte Law and Mel Reid also struggled on Friday, falling out of the hunt with scores of 74 and 73 respectively.
