Golfer Fabrizio Zanotti knocked unconscious by wayward golf ball
Play suspended at KLM Open
Play at the KLM Open golf tournament was suspended today after a competitor was knocked unconscious by a wayward ball.
Fabrizio Zanotti of Paraguay was competing at the event at the Kennemer Golf & Country Club in Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
The 31-year-old was on the 16th fairway when the incident happened, with the ball having been struck from the 14th tee.
Alexandre Kaleka of France, who struck the ball, was pictured looking concerned as Zanotti was treated on the course.
Zanotti, who was on par at the time, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
