Tiger Woods continued to lead Phil Mickelson by one after nine holes of the second round in the Ford Championship at Doral.
The fierce rivals had opened with scores of 64 and 65 respectively in the event where they finished first and second last year. Mickelson caught Woods with an eagle on the par-five eighth, only for the world No 1 to respond with an 18-foot birdie putt.
Both turned in 33, leaving Woods 11 under and Mickelson tied for second on 10 under with Rich Beem, who out-shot Woods to win the 2002 US PGA title, and Ryan Palmer. Jesper Parnevik had eight birdies and three bogeys to go five under in 19th place.
Thongchai Jaidee, of Thailand, and the Briton Simon Dyson both shot 68 to share a second-round 10-under lead in the Indonesian Open in Jakarta.
