Having ruptured an ankle ligament during a simple kick about with friends, Rory McIlory has withdrawn from this year’s Open.
For those die-hard fans who have been left understandably distraught by the world No 1’s withdrawal, do not despair. We’ve compiled ten of his most memorable moments to ease the pain of his absence.
Whilst it might serve as a reminder of what viewers are missing, they’re still worth a watch.
We begin with arguably his greatest moment – his first major victory…
