Tiger Woods will not defend his AT&T National title at Congressional due to an elbow strain and is not expected to play again before the Open next month.
Woods announced on his official website that he has been told to rest, but he believes he will be back in time for the next major at Muirfield which starts on 18 July .
"I was examined after I returned home from the US Open, and the doctors determined I have a left elbow strain," Woods said. "I have been advised to take a few weeks off to rest and undergo treatment."
