Graham faces decision

George Graham must decide over the next fortnight whether to appeal against his year's ban from football. Lawyers for the former Arsenal manager, found guilty of misconduct after a three-day hearing into alleged transfer "bungs", yesterday received from the Football Association written reasons for the commission's verdict.

Graham, angered by the six-week delay in handing over the information, has accused the FA of treating him with little respect. An FA spokesman refused to comment.

West Ham are apparently ready to bring the Crystal Palace striker Iain Dowie back to Upton Park. Dowie played for the Hammers in 1990/91 before leaving for Southampton. Palace, who want pounds 500,000 for Dowie, are pursuing Bristol Rovers' Welsh Under-21 striker, Gareth Taylor, who will cost them at least pounds 1m.
