Guinea step into Nigeria's shoes

Guinea are to replace Nigeria in the African Nations' Cup because Nigeria did not meet a deadline to confirm their participation. The Confederation of African is to decide later this month what sanctions to impose on Nigeria, who withdrew because of fears over the players' safety. Meanwhile, Doug Sharpe has resigned as chairman of struggling Second Division club Swansea, a move which could lead to a takeover.
