Halifax have completed the signing of the Western Samoan rugby union international full-back, Michael Umaga. The 28-year-old, who was spotted by the Thrum Hall club in the World Cup, has signed a three-season contract which is understood to be worth around pounds 80,000. Since Steve Hampson, the former Wigan and Great Britain player, broke his arm at Featherstone last October, they have used seven different players in the No 1 jersey.

Dean Busby's fee for his move from Hull to St Helens last week, will be decided by a tribunal. St Helens have offered pounds 80,000 for the 21-year- old loose-forward, but Hull value the England international at pounds 195,000.

Warrington have re-signed skipper Greg Mackey, utility player Andy Bennett and hooker John Thursfield on 18-month contracts until the end of the first Super League season.
