Harbinger of success for Gifford

Kristina Gifford rode the 11-year-old ex-racehorse Harbinger to a popular victory in the British Intermediate Championship at the Land Rover British Horse Trials at Gatcombe Park yesterday, writes Mary Gordon Watson. "It took time for him to adapt but I feel he can do anything now he has confidence" she said. Celina Elliott from Bristol went even faster than Gifford to pull up into second place on the consistent Overton Sunrise, edging ahead of dressage leader William Fox Pitt on The Artist. Mark Todd, on Lady Bamford's Vanbi Charboniere, won the advanced competition.
