Three well-taken goals from Richard Jones enabled the Civil Service to beat the British Police 4-2. The margin of defeat for the Police would have been much greater but for a series of brave saves by their goalkeeper, Kenny Cairns.

The International Hockey Federation yesterday established a disciplinary committee to investigate claims that the match between India and Malaysia at the Olympic qualifying tournament last month was fixed. The Canadian federation protested after a 0-0 draw in Barcelona saw the Malaysians take the last Olympic place at Canada's expense.
