Tracy Fry scored a penalty corner goal after only five minutes to set Ipswich on their way to a 4-1 victory over Balsam Leicester, the leaders of the Women's Premier League. Two further goals from Sarah Bamfield and a penalty stroke from Sandie Lister wrapped up the match for last year's champions and brought them within two points of the top. Nancy Stokes scored the only goal after seven minutes as Hightown beat struggling Chelmsford to move into third place. Bracknell took over the First Division leadership by winning 1-0 at Exmouth to take advantage of Wimbledon's 2-1 defeat at Doncaster. In the Second Division Great Harwood increased their lead to four points, the legendary Val Robinson masterminding their 3-1 win at Canterbury.
