SOUTHGATE, WITH a 4-3 win against Old Loughtonians, registered their fourth successive victory to take over the leadership of the EHL Premier, although their coach, Neill Hawgood, was far from happy with their performance, writes Bill Colwill.
In the top of the table gamer at Canterbury, visitors Cannock three times came from behind before settling for a 3-3 draw, with Jason Lee scoring twice.
At the bottom, pointless Brooklands went down 4-6 at Guildford. East Grinstead, also looking for their first point, were beaten 6-2 at Reading where Scott Ashdown scored a hat-trick.
Stourport with a 7-2 victory against Isca, took over the division one leadership on goal difference from Surbiton, who won 3-1 at Bromley. Both clubs have maximum points.
