Hockey: Teddington buried by Ekaterinburg
Teddington's dreams of European glory faded under the bright Spanish sun in Terrassa yesterday as they were beaten in their second game in the European Cup-Winners' Cup 3-1 by Ekaterinburg from Russia, writes Brian Tatlock. The Russians were in control after a careless tackle by Phil McGuire led to a penalty corner in the 13th minute and then a penalty stroke, which Oleg Timofeev converted. Jon Hauck equalised in the 47th minute from Teddington's sixth penalty corner, but the defender Viktor Soukhikh twice went forward to score and earn the Russians victory.
