CARDIFF Devils play Fife Flyers and Sheffield Steelers meet Nottingham Panthers in the British Championship semi-finals at Wembley Arena on Saturday, with the final on Sunday, writes Steve Pinder.
Fife and Sheffield met on Saturday, Steelers' winning 5-4. Meanwhile, Murrayfield Racers' demolition of Humberside Hawks counted for nothing as they could not catch Fife, Steelers ending their debut season in the Premier with a 15-8 win over Racers.
The shock qualifiers were Panthers, who began the final weekend bottom of their four-team qualifying group. They started off at home entertaining Durham Wasps, whose import, Dan Vincelette, was thrown out of the game after 12 minutes. Panthers took advantage to win 6-4.
Wasps and Whitley Warriors could still have overhauled Panthers, but in the end Sunday's drawn games decided matters.
