Ice Hockey: Rangers earn chance to end drought
New York Rangers kept alive their pursuit of a first Stanley Cup victory since 1940 when they scored a 2-1 double-overtime victory over the New Jersey Devils in the seventh game of the Eastern Conference final. It is the first time they have reached the championship decider since 1979. Stephane Matteau secured the win after 4min 24sec of the secind overtime. The Rangers, who have won three of their nine finals, host Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.
