SHEFFIELD STEELERS last night blew the chance to go top of the Superleague as Nottingham Panthers gained sweet revenge for their agonising defeat on Boxing Day.
Panthers notched up a 6-5 victory with Aaron Cain clinching victory two minutes from time, even though the Steelers managed a late reply. Just 24 hours earlier at the Sheffield Arena, Steelers had rallied from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and give their coach, Mike Blaisdell, the perfect Christmas present against his old side.
The table-topping London Knights, meanwhile, went down 4-1 in the afternoon at home to Bracknell Bees in front of the biggest crowd of the season of just under 5,000 at the London Arena. Bracknell maintained the only unbeaten away record in Superleague.
