The spotlight will be on the former Olympic champions, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, tomorrow afternoon when they unveil their new routine, set to Irving Berlin's Let's Face The Music and Dance, in the free programme of the Peoples Phone British Ice Dance Championships at Sheffield. They will compete against 12 other pairs in the senior event, including the defending champions, Marika Humphreys and Justin Lanning, who were the youngest winners of the title last year. The overall winners will skate for Britain at the Winter Olympics in Norway. The championships start today with the compulsory dance this afternoon and the original programme tonight.

How to get there: Sheffield Arena, Broughton Lane, is signposted one mile from junction 34 of M1. Today: Compulsory dance (1.30pm), original programme (7.30); tomorrow: free dance (1.30). Admission (remaining tickets are selling quickly): today 1.30pm session pounds 3 adults, pounds 1.50 children/OAPs; 7.30pm pounds 10, pounds 5. Tomorrow pounds 13, pounds 6.50. (Tel: 0742-565656).
