In-foal Wind in line for York

Time is running out for Wind In Her Hair, runner-up to Balanchine in the last year's Oaks, if she is to get some Group-winning 'black type' next to her name.

She is already successfully in foal to Arazi and has had two runs since conceiving in the spring, most recently when a disappointing fifth in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot last Friday.

Regulations dictate that an in-foal mare can race up to 120 days after the last service date. Those rules would allow the filly - twice Group- placed - until a day after the Group One Yorkshire Oaks on 16 August to achieve coveted Group success. Her trainer, John Hills, said: "We have to wait for her to come right, but her entries include the Yorkshire Oaks. A win there would be quite a way to go out."
