Mario Cipollini sprinted to his fourth stage victory in the Tour of Italy yesterday, but may not complete the 3,955-kilometre race which ends in Milan on Sunday. The Italian complained of knee trouble which could make him a doubtful starter for the mountainous days ahead.
Cipollini led over the last 500m to finish clear of compatriot Giovanni Lombardi and Poland's Zbigniew Spruch in a mass sprint. With leader Pavel Tonkov of Russia clocking the same time as Cipollini, the overall standings remain unchanged.
