Jamie Delgado reaches quarter finals of satellite tournament

Warwickshire's Jamie Delgado, at 18 the youngest player in the men's satellite at Bramhall, Cheshire, yesterday beat the No 2 seed, Orlin Stanoytchev of Bulgaria, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals.

Sam Smith, from Essex, beat Russia's Natasha Egorova 6-7, 7-5, 7-6 in the quarter-finals of the LTA women's satellite event in Sunderland yesterday. She will meet the unseeded Shirli-Ann Siddall, of Dorset, in the semi- finals.
