Larry Holmes beats Ed Donaldson as Don King faces fraud charges

arry Holmes, the former world heavyweight champion, gained a unanimous 10-round decision over Ed Donaldson, a policeman, in Bay St Louis, Mississippi, on Tuesday.

The trial of promoter Don King begins today on nine charges of insurance fraud after a cancelled fight. King is accused of submitting a false contract to Lloyd's saying he paid the World Boxing Council super-lightweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez $350,000 (pounds 225,800) in non-refundable training fees. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in jail and $250,000 fine.
