Adrian Maguire, whose start to the season was delayed by injury, moved into fourth place in the jump jockeys' title race with a treble at odds of more than 8-1 at Sedgefield yesterday. Maguire has now had 27 winners this season.

The Irishman was seen at his cheekiest on the first of his treble, 8- 13 favourite Iffeee. "He just wants to be a nose in front and never goes away," Maguire explained later. "He only goes as fast as what's behind him - he's very clever!"
