The governing body of international motor sport, the FIA, has blamed the Ligier team for the fire which enveloped Pedro Diniz's car at the Argentinian Grand Prix on 7 April and warned it would take disciplinary action in future incidents. The FIA said investigations showed Ligier had failed to maintain refuelling equipment properly.

Giancarlo Fisichella, of Italy, will drive a Minardi car in Sunday's European Formula One Grand Prix, replacing the young Brazilian Tarso Marques who had been driving with the Italian team in the two previous championship races in Brazil and Argentina.
